Re: Why run Windows on ARM on a 950?

To update your phone it is recommended to redeploy using WOA.Deployer with knowledge about supported builds because you risk updating to an unsupported build. So it is safe to say that updating by Windows Update should be avoided. Gustave did update his phone using Windows Update though, so it could...

Re: Windows Failed to Start

It may sound ludicrous because you possibly entered a no-win situation, but the way out of this is using the official Microsoft Windows Device Recovery Tool along with the button combination for hard-reset to get your phone working again.

EDIT: I feel very sorry for your data loss :(

Re: WANTED: Windows 10 Insider Preview 18908 (ARM64)!

In my honest opinion a certain part of MSFT, the ones loving Chromium and trying to destroy company culture (I look at you mr cloud), is actively working to destroy our efforts. Maybe I will find a link to a build tomorrow *twinker*. ;) (trying to avoid saying something I could be framed for)

Re: Why run Windows on ARM on a 950?

You can run Windows 10 ARM64 with support up to build 19041 which has more features and possibly security features than the old W10M build. If MSFT helps us then we could get Manganese builds working aswell. You ask, why run W10ARM? To be honest your visit to our forums proves that you are curious t...

Can you please try locking the phone again to see if you can boot into W10M? Oh shit. Last time I got this message is when wpinternals was stuck during flashing and I had to terminate the flashing process in the middle, causing inability to boot. Dear Telescuffle, after investigating your log file I have not found any oddities. Also your steps of deployment and configuration would match what I would do/have. Since you have used WOADeployer you can either look into the log file (located inside the Logs folder) or tell us the time and date when you deployed WoA so we can make a good estimate.

Re: unlock bootloader not working (Custom flash failed)

You can find the wpinternals log file at C:\ProgramData\WPinternals\WPinternals.log (see https://github.com/ReneLergner/WPinternals/issues/7 ). By the way, gus33000 is working on an update to wpinternals that could improve your flashing experience so please stay patient. I am sorry for the late reply.

I did cast to my Surface Pro 6 back in Summer using Miracast and it worked. But I remember having many issues connecting to a smart TV (did not work on a LG TV). Please look at the official status page to see that it is a known issue.

Re: Contributing Windows 10 ARM Cellular Data

I see. Gus wants to gather logs for SIM usage on builds prior to when it became broken. Besides contributing to that project, does this mean we cannot at least test a manual hack on newer insiders that may work with our single sim/device? Or must we wait for Gus to gather data and properly implemen...

Re: Contributing Windows 10 ARM Cellular Data

19041.1.191206-1406.VB_RELEASE_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_A64FRE_EN-GB.ISO You need to use WMRilShim.dll on build 18908 or older because newer builds do not come with WMRil.dll. Then we can use your cellular dump to fix cellular for your SIM configuration on 19041 and newer. I was hoping that my statement ab...

I believe you have to disable SIM lock for it to work. Gustave is known to have tested only with SIM lock removed. Correct me if I am wrong. That is why I want to collect cellular data, maybe we can fix this issue.

Is the ARM 32 build different to early Windows S versions? Can it run x86 apps for example? I doubt that MSFT had the x86 emulation layer finished by then. What Windows 10 build did you try? What driver pack version did you install?

I did install build 19038 last weekend using 1910 driver pack and it worked.

Dear Sil, welcome to our WoA community! 1. Now that we have solved that issue about access rights (the log does not mention it anymore), how about opening up the website "api.github.com" in your browser? Is it blocked? Can you open cmd.exe and type in "ping api.github.com"? Which IP do you get?
