Charging via USB-C cable
Charging via USB-C cable
I saw some posts on reddit that a different CAD.sys file can be used to enable charging via a USB-C cable.
This is huge! I will be able to use the phone for extended periods and/or leave long running tasks unattended without working they will fail due to battery.
Can someone please post the exact steps they did to get this crucial feature to work?
Thanks

Re: Charging via USB-C cable
You must use w10m for charging for now

Re: Charging via USB-C cable
Which sub Reddit did you see this on?
Were they working on a 950xl?
You need to ask on that sub, because it wasn't anyone on the WoA project (unless they've not told us)

Re: Charging via USB-C cable
It was this subthread in the WindowsPhone subreddit.
I searched in the telegram group and found several mentions of CAD.sys, with instructions to boot into mass storage mode and replace the file in Windows/system32/drivers ON THE WindowsArm partition, not the MainOS partition.
I did that, but no luck. I am running the same version of WoA as the person who posted a screenshot of charging working. But the telegram channel is a mess, way, way to many people there talking in a single thread.
That's why I asked here.

Re: Зарядка через кабель USB-C
There are several files CAD.SYS, some from mobile, and some from arm version. Look at the file size, 55,3Kb needed.jbiserkov wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 10:21 amIt was this subthread in the WindowsPhone subreddit.

Re: Charging via USB-C cable
Qi charging works fine in WoA on 1903 builds (as a workaround until such a time as USB-C based charging starts working).
